Comped is an app for running a card business. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to keep your books, we do not sell it, and you can delete all of it whenever you want.
What we collect
Account details. Your email address and a password, used to sign in and keep your records tied to your account.
Your business records. The inventory, deals, sales, trades, expenses, and wallet addresses you add. This is the product: your books, your tax estimates, your records.
Bank account data. If you connect a bank account, we receive account details, balances, and transactions through Stripe Financial Connections, used only to reconcile your books and find write-offs. See the bank account section below.
Card photos. When you scan a card or slab, the photo is sent to our pricing service to identify the card and find its market price, and is kept with the deal as your record.
The demo mode collects nothing. Demo data lives only on your phone.
What we use it for
Running the app: identifying cards, pricing them from real sales, keeping your books, and estimating your taxes.
Nothing else. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data.
We do not share your records with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not post anything anywhere on your behalf.
Bank account connections
When you connect a bank account, the connection is made through Stripe Financial Connections. Here is how that works:
You log in on your bank's own screen or through Stripe's secure flow. Comped never sees or stores your bank login credentials.
During the flow, Stripe shows you exactly what data you are agreeing to share, and nothing is shared until you consent.
What we receive: account details, balances, and transactions for the accounts you choose. We use them for one purpose: reconciling your books and finding your write-offs.
You can disconnect a bank account at any time in the app, and you can also review or revoke bank connections directly with Stripe at support.stripe.com. Deleting your Comped account deletes the bank data we hold.
Services we rely on
Your records are stored with our database and authentication provider. Card identification and pricing run on our own pricing service, which uses licensed market data sources. Bank connections run through Stripe. These providers process your data only to run the app, under their own security and privacy obligations.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account, because your records are the product. Delete your account and the records go with it.
Deleting your data
Open the app, go to Account, and tap Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and every record in it, on your phone and on our servers. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Children
Comped is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. The app gives you all three directly: your records are visible in the app, editable in the app, and deletable in the app.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
